New App Akyasi Means You’ll Never Have To Carry Your Shopping Bags Again
Retail therapy just got a whole lot more dangerous
If, like us, you may have a *slight* fashion addiction, then you’ll know all too well the perils of mall-trawling with dead arms thanks to lugging too many shopping bags around all day. Well, help is now at hand – literally.
Newly launched Akyasi, which literally means ‘my bags’ in Arabic, has just introduced hands-free shopping, meaning all your goodies will be whisked out your hands and delivered straight to your doorstep.

Founded by friends and businesswomen Ranya Zaben and Enas Soussan, the service works by downloading the free app, and singing up with your mobile number. Shoppers can then select their desired delivery location on the app and leave their shopping bags at one of the several drop-off points in the mall.
Each Akyasi drop-off point will provide plastic bags with QR codes, so you can scan and track your items whilst they’re being delivered.
“Akyasi is a complete operations platform that allows the tracking and coordination of the travel of the user’s bag at every moment from the shop to the users preferred pick up point or delivery address,” says the brand’s CEO Ranya Zaben. “As such, this hybrid between on and offline shopping reimagines the role of the traditional shopping process by adapting its strengths to the needs and wants of connected consumers.”

The Akyasi platform is currently available to use in both Yas Mall and Dalma Mall in Abu Dhabi with plans to expand further within the UAE and the region soon.
