
Ralph Lauren Celebrates 20 Years of the Pink Pony Initiative
The famous pink polo player emblem is a global symbol for the brand’s philanthropic efforts when it comes to combatting breast cancer
American fashion brand Ralph Lauren has run the Pink Pony Initiative for 20 years. The company launched the philanthropic program back in in 2000, with a mission to help find a cure for breast cancer, while ensure quality treatment for patients, host volunteering programs and distribute funds to research and care centres around the world.
To celebrate the Pink Pony Initiative’s 20th anniversary, Ralph Lauren is launching a 360-degree marketing campaign called “More Conversations, More Love.” The purpose of the campaign is to shine a spotlight on cancer survivors and supporters who come from different walks of life. Each person in this group will share their journey and help start a conversation about healing, hope, and the importance of love and compassion we need in society.
This diverse group has around 30 people from all around the world including Facebook project manager and activist, Sheif Kamal; Director of the Boston University Antiracist Research Center and New York Times #1 bestselling author Dr. Ibram X; Korean actress and singer Krystal Jung; Australian singer and songwriter Delta Goodrem and British author Deborah James are among a few of the people who will contribute to the campaign.
The 2020 Pink Pony apparel collection features an assortment of the world renowned Polo icon that has been updated. Fun, new graphics have been added to the collection’s design with an aesthetic colour palette of pink, white, grey and navy. The star of the collection is the ‘Love Language’ tee, available in 20 different languages.
This year 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of each light pink ‘Live Love’ tee and 25 percent of the proceeds from the sale of all other items in the Pink Pony Collection will be donated to the Zahra Association in Saudi Arabia and to Pink Caravan in the UAE. Both organisation support cancer patients through their journey, raise awareness on the importance of early detection and support scientific research for breast cancer.
