The never-ending parade of street-style peacocking that accompanies Fashion Month is almost upon us, with New York Fashion Week kicking off the caravanserai of OTT pap-worthy looks on Wednesday. We’re predicting a stampede of one shoe in particular, and trust us when we say it has the ability to launch a thousand flashbulbs and at least double the Insta-likes.
It’s the handiwork of It-Brit designer Daniel Lee, who since taking the helm at Bottega Veneta in June last year has created buzz to the point of a fan page being launched on Instagram: @newbottega. The most millennial ode to a fashion hero there is.
So bravo Daniel – your square-toe super-mules are undoubtedly the shoe of the season – already seen on the likes of former BAZAAR cover star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and mega-influencer, Erika Boldrin. We’ve fallen head over heels for the Italian luxury brand’s mesh iterations, complete with edgy chain, but we’d also never say no to the exclusive, open-toe red versions about to drop onto e-com platform, Mytheresa, just in time for NYFW.
