Tod’s Partners With Alber Elbaz To Design A Capsule Collection
The award-winning designer is back on the scene
The Italian luxury label, most renowned for its footwear, has teamed up with Alber Elbaz to conceive a new, exciting range of accessories, soon to be available worldwide.
This marks Elbaz’s latest venture back into the design world after his shock exit from Lanvin in 2015. He held the post of creative director at the French maison for some fourteen years, during which he transformed the brand into a celebrated and globally recognised fashion house, whilst also gaining some staunch high-profile fans, including Michelle Obama, Kristen Scott Thomas and Demi Moore.
He has since partnered up with Converse, designing his own ‘Avant’ trainer collection, launched a fragrance with Frédéric Malle, worked with LeSportsac on a collection of bags and ventured into the beauty world with a Lancôme make-up range.
The Italian accessories label‘s new creative laboratory project, Tod’s Factory, welcomes collaborations with designers from around the world. It previously teamed up with Italian designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua to create a leather-based capsule collection of ready-to-wear clothing items and several styles of boots, heels and sandals.
The initiative encourages Elbaz to impart his innovative stamp upon the collection, but will also surely pay homage to Tod’s heritage, rooted in fine Italian craftsmanship.
