Modest Fashion Shines at Heya

The Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition returns to Doha for its 18th edition

Kicking off this Sunday and running until the 17th December, the latest iteration of the Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition features over 130 brands from 10 countries and seeks to highlight and encourage sustainable practices in the fashion industry. Its new theme – Ignite – aims to empower female entrepreneurs by providing them with a platform to showcase their designs and a space in which to meet and network with experts voices from within the fashion industry. Having built a reputation as the leading platform for Arabian fashion in the region, the women-only exhibition brings together fashion professionals, designers, influencers, and entrepreneurs.

Organised by Qatar Tourism and Qatar Business Events Corporation (QBEC), the event will shine a spotlight on designers from across the GCC, as well as India, Lebanon, Indonesia, Morocco and Turkey; with a vast array of abayas, kaftans, and dresses, as well as accessories, cosmetics and perfume. Across six days, the exhibition will play host to fashion shows, engaging workshops, and panel discussions focused on key issues facing designers.

Heya

Harper’s Bazaar Qatar will host two discussions: Finding your way in Fashion with designers Fatima Alqaedi and Rabab Abdulla in partnership with Bedaya, a centre for entrepreneurship and career development; and Building A Brand with luxury jewellery brand Hairaat founder Nada Al-Sulaiti and Printemps Doha Director of Marketing Rosette Fares. Exploring everything from the importance of a strong communication strategy to the role of social media in developing a brand; how the global pandemic has shifted our focus, and the necessity to adopt more sustainable practices, the talks are intended to discuss the types of challenges faced by many designers in this period and, significantly, to discuss solutions.

12th-16th December, 10am-10pm; 17th December, 3pm-10pm. https://www.visitqatar.qa/en/events/heya
