The Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) returns for its fourth edition, having established itself as one of the most anticipated celebrations of creativity and cinema here in the region. Over the years, the festival has welcomed creatives from around the world, whose extraordinary contributions – both in front of and behind the camera – have inspired generations of audiences and storytellers alike.
Star power was strong at opening night yesterday evening as regional stars, Bollywood A-Listers and International celebrities walked the red carpet.

Honourees of the Festival
As in previous years the festival will honour remarkable figures from the film industry for their outstanding achievements and contributions. Among this year’s honourees are Egyptian actress Mona Zaki; cinema legend Aamir Khan; and Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt. Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis will also be recognised during the prestigious Awards Ceremony on 12 December.
Celebrity Attendees at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2024
This year’s Red Sea International Film Festival boasts an extraordinary lineup of international celebrities. Among the latest stars attending the festival’s “In Conversation With” sessions are the dynamic couple Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas; actress and director Olivia Wilde; and Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh. British star Andrew Garfield will also be attending and is set to deliver a talk as part of the festival’s Souk Talents programme.
Confirmed attendees also include American actress Eva Longoria; Turkish stars Engin Altan Düzyatan and Nurgül Yeşilçay, as well as Bollywood icons Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Fashion icon Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015; and Swedish model and actress Praya Lundberg will also be in attendance.
Asian stars making waves at the festival include Thai actor Bright Vachirawit, renowned for his role in 2gether: The Series, and Park Sung Hoon, known for his roles in hit K-dramas like The Glory.
The Saudi Pioneers session will feature actor and poet Ibrahim Alhasawi and actor Moshal Almutairi, offering unique insights into the local film scene. Renowned filmmakers Mohamed Samy, Michael Mann, and Spike Lee will also be part of this star-studded event, making the Red Sea International Film Festival 2024 an unforgettable celebration of global cinema.
This Year’s Theme: The New Home of Film.
The theme for this year’s Red Sea International Film Festival is The New Home of Film. This reflects not only the festival’s relocation to the historic Al-Balad district but also Saudi Arabia’s growing influence within the Middle Eastern and international film industries. The festival will feature over 120 films from more than 80 countries, offering a celebration of global cinema in this culturally rich setting.
The festival will open with a screening of The Tale of Daye’s Family, directed by Egyptian filmmaker Karim Shenawy. Additionally, an exclusive awards night event will include the screening of Johnny Depp’s latest directorial feature, which has been supported by the Red Sea Film Foundation.
