There are a few fashion items that are quintissentially SATC: Manolo’s, the iconic opening credits tutu, and of course, the Fendi Baguette. When we saw the iconic handbag in Fendi's Spring/Summer 2019 show - we could hardly believe our eyes. The bag is back. And so is Carrie Bradshaw for their latest campaign.
German influencer Caro Daur stars as a modern-day Carrie Bradshaw in the brand's new campaign. After dishing with her girlfriends about the dreamiest purple sequin bag she saw on the street earlier, they storm into the Fendi store demanding the bag...only to find that it's been purchased by someone else. They spot a mysterious (yet stylish) woman leaving the store, bag in hand, and chase after her yelling, “Ma’am, I need that bag!” Sara Jessica Parker then turns around to inform her: “Oh, this isn't a bag. It’s a Baguette.” And *mic drop*.
The short film shows off all the classic versions of the Baguette, while introducing a few newer designs that are edgier than ever before. Unless you happen to have a vintage version locked up somewhere safe, we do recommend getting in line for what will easily be the most prolific bag of the season.
