Exclusive: Anna Ewers Fronts Liu Jo’s Meghan Markle-Inspired A/W19 Campaign

This just in: Italian fashion house Liu Jo has just dropped their fall/winter gold and white label ad campaign with exclusive behind-the-scenes photos by Mert and Marcus

This is not the first time German model Anna Ewers has been the face of a Liu Jo campaign, having already modelled for the previous two seasons on the #Glamourizing set. The brand’s A/W19 campaign exudes sophistication, coupling femininity with sustainability through evocative collections that depict natural glam.

Liu Jo has been working towards sustainability through their meticulous production and design processes, aiming to reduce water, energy and chemical usage.

In an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview, Ewers said, “the fashion industry could get a lot better by focusing more on sustainability. It’s a crucial point and we can’t ignore it anymore. The industry should be an example and should think in a green way for the future of the planet and for the people of the future.”

The Gold Label takes inspiration from royal style icons Lady Diana, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, embodying vintage designs from the eighties and nineties with contemporary touches. The collection features chic dresses, trousers and skirts with a versatile colour palette comprising hues such as light white milk, cinnamon and gold sun.

The White Label represents the independent and fierce woman with the two themes of Naughty ‘80s and Wild Things and Global Meltin Pot. The eclectic colour palette features shades of sweet caramel, cherry rose, light yellow, charm red and corn. 

Designed for the free-spirited women of the world, the first theme combines a jungle vibe with glamour through whimsical animal prints and a feminine aesthetic such as the zebra-style jacquard coat.

The Global Meltin Pot takes inspiration from a woman who is free, curious and embraces the desire to explore. With ultra-feminine prints such as the black garden and wild flower designs on the dresses and blouses, the White Label portrays an independent spirit with elegance and flair.

“In my private life I prefer keeping it natural but of course it’s also fun to be glam for a special night out,” said Ewers during the interview. “In my opinion a woman can be both the things in her everyday life, I think versatility is absolutely a value for a woman – being a woman is a wonderful thing and every woman is beautiful on her own.” Amen to that.
