On a sunny day in downtown Beirut, MyRan launched their spring/summer 2019 cruise collection that was inspired by summer's intoxicating hues. The brand was started by Lebanese women Myrna Bocti and Rania Karam. The two had an unconventional start in fashion, both with backgrounds in marketing, they joined forces to bring about an urban approach to fashion. They decided to create a spring/summer 2019 collection that was all about florals, femininity, flashy and summery hues with blue as the main colourway.
MyRan is a womenswear brand that represents contemporary wearable luxury but at an affordable price. “Our business came later in life because we wanted to have a good easy to wear collection and an easy to pay collection too, so we decided to use nice materials that are affordable,” said Myrna.
Driven, fashion savvy and experimental, Myrna and Rania develop collections that reflect a feminine yet edgy aesthetic. “We were inspired by summer hues; tie-dye prints and florals were our main inspiration. We also loved the fish embroidery concept. The collection is easy to wear with dresses, jumpsuits, abayas and kaftans,” said Rania.
When asked what makes their Lebanese brand unique, Myrna replied, “Our editions are very limited. We may create a certain dress four times and then we stop. Our fish embroidery dress was popular, but we only produced a certain quantity and discontinued it.” Showcased in Beirut’s Beirut Souks, the public is invited to shop the limited-edition collection until April 16, 2019.
