Chantecler Jewellery Celebrates 70th Anniversary In Dubai
Second generation owner Costanza Aprea hosted a lunch at The Four Seasons at Jumeirah Beach before showing Bazaar the latest collections at the ISTANA boutique
When the first Chantecler store opened in 1947 in Capri, the jewels soon became synonymous with the glamorous parties of the Mediterranean island that attracted a host of international jetsetters.
Today the family-run Maison is headquartered in Milan, with boutiques and dealers across the world including ISTANA in the Middle East. The brand is renowned for original jewels inspired by Capri’s vibrant colours and designs, which were on view during Monday’s lunch at Sea Fu.
Chantecler Maiolica turquoise, sapphire, kogolong and diamond earrings
These included the Maiolica collection, which represents the lively terracotta tiles decorating Capri using white mother-of-pearl or kogolong, with sapphires, diamonds and bright turquoise. Meanwhile the Enchanté jewels take the uneven stone path carved into the island’s rocks, with irregular-shaped cabochons of coral, white kogolong, onyx and turquoise within pavé-set borders of diamonds.

The Marinelle collection harks from the sea with the signature Chantecler jellyfish transformed into elegant drop earrings, charms and rings. Fusing together sculpture and jewellery, the pieces feature moving tentacles and a variety of precious stones including aquamarine, red coral and pink opal.

One of our favourites was the Chérie sautoir that can be worn long, or as Costanza showed us, knotted into a choker for a dramatic look. Set with diamonds and a variety of hardstones, the Chérie pieces are available in the bright colours of Mediterranean tradition or in contrastiing white and black tones.
