Arab Woman Awards 2021 To Celebrate Inspirational Female Role Models From The Region
The awards ceremony will take place on October 13 in partnership with UN Women, at Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s World of Fashion at Mall of the Emirates — and nominations are now open…
With so many brilliant female minds, working to make the region a better place, it’s imperative to celebrate their handwork, dedication and initiative at every opportunity — which is precisely why the Arab Woman Awards was founded over ten years ago…
Launched in 2009 by ITP Media Group, the event aims to raise public awareness towards significant achievements of Arab women, creating a platform that celebrates their success stories first-hand.
Last year the awards focused on the brilliant female minds who worked on combating Covid-19 within the region. Winners from the Arab Women Awards 2020 include Her Highness Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, who was named ‘Humanitarian of the Year’ for her leadership of the ’10 Million Meals’ campaign; Dr Farida Al Hosani, Executive Director of Communicable Diseases at the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, and one of three medical doctors recognised for their work responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Dubai-based content creator Karen Wazen, who won the ‘Digital Media’ award for her contribution to social media during the pandemic.
This year the ceremony will take place on October 13 at the Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s World of Fashion located at the Mall of the Emirates. The event will include the announcement of the winners, followed by a private ceremony for winners and judges to be hosted by Sue Holt, Managing Director at ITP Media Group, and Susanne Mikhail, Regional Director of UN Women for the Arab States.
There will be eighteen trophies selected by the panel of judges: the Arab Woman Awards Board, experts in their sectors and previous awardees. The trophies highlight achievements in business, arts, young talent, philanthropy, education, and design.
