Netflix Movie Releases 2021: What To Watch This Winter
From a Sophia Loren documentary to a romance series sequel, here’s a list of all the films scheduled to premiere on the platform in the next few months
It’s been almost one year since the pandemic changed everyday life as we know it, forcing many of us to spend more time than ever before at home. Not only have the knock-off effects of COVID-19 disrupted our day-to-day activities, but it’s also taken a toll on many industries – including film and entertainment. While many of Hollywood’s upcoming release have been forced to postpone their premiere dates, streaming platform Netflix has stepped up to fill the void.
Earlier this month, it announced it had plans to release more than 70 original new films in 2021 alone, featuring A-Listers like Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds and others within the flicks.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds are set to star in Red Notice, one of the platform’s most anticipated action-comedy thrillers of 2021, alongside Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead about a zombie heist in Las Vegas (premiere dates for these action flicks have yet to be schedule, so check back soon for more details.)
For those of us who are looking for a bit of romance, To All The Boys: Always and Forever will premiere in February. The third and final installment of the film series follows the relationship high school senior Lara Jean Covey as she prepares for life after graduation.
Adam McKay’s political satire disaster comedy Don’t Look Up is also slated to premiere on Netflix in 2021, although an exact date has yet to be announced. Cast members include the likes of as Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Timothee Chalamet, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio as the film follows a group of astronomers on a media tour to warn the world of an asteroid that will destroy the earth.
While we eagerly await more news on the entire schedule of all the movies premiere on the platform, Bazaar shares a full list of the upcoming film releases for the next few weeks…
