Discover the Garden of Eden this season with Roger Vivier, through dreamy hues, floral embellishments and a touch of movie magic…
Check in to Spring/Summer 2021 and the dreamy world of Hôtel Vivier Cinémathèque to discover a collection that oozes the glamour and drama of old-school Hollywood. Big-buckled satin slippers, demure kitten heels in princess pink and hand-painted purses that radiate the joys of spring are just some of the delights to behold at Roger Vivier this season.

And no runway means ‘no problem’ for the Maison and creative director Gherardo Felloni, with the collection being presented in the most innovative of interactive video art form, with Gherardo taking inspiration from his love of cinema and the brands long standing affiliation with acting greats such as Marlene Dietrich, Ava Gardner and Catherine Deneuve – who all wore shoes designed by the label’s founder.
“I love movies of every genre: comedies, tragedies, thrillers,” says Gherardo. “In my view, the Roger Vivier brand is intertwined with actresses, and in particular French ones. Their femininity never fails to inspire me. This season, I decided to combine all the genres and to propose a fun immersion in the seventh art.”

Each season, Gherardo has presented his new collection at the ‘Hotel Vivier’ merging accessory design with art in the form of theatre, opera, performance art, cabaret, and beyond, for his short film interpretation he has engaged the services of the legendary, and Golden Globe winning, French actress Isabelle Huppert, who guides viewers through an immersive game at Hotel Vivier Cinémathèque, she invites us to solve riddles and challenges to unveil keys that lead to another room, and indeed the next level of the game, but answer incorrectly and it’s back to the start.
Each room captures a different film genre, embracing the peculiarity of Tim Burton masterpieces and the dark drama of ‘master of horror’ Dario Argento, as well as presenting us with Isabelle dressed as Bette Davis from What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?

And the fun and magical journey has a fairytale ending of course, when the final key leads the viewer from the beautifully animated section of the film into a paradise ‘Garden of Eden’ where we can rejoice with an eye-popping reveal of fruits, flowers and wondrous cakes that brings on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory levels of happiness.

Gorge on delicate hues of pear green and lilac; modern, elaborately decorated and authentically crafted pumps that celebrate summer with florals and lace, and handbags that are hand-painted and embroidered with blossoms and carefully embellished with precious rhinestone flowers. This is a feel-good movie ending for a feel-good collection that will put a spring in your step this season.
