Brow Lamination Before and After: The Results Don’t Lie…
An excellent alternative for the commitment-phobes in our life, the treatment will give your brows a full yet polished look without the permanent effects of micro-blading
The natural beauty trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, anytime soon. According to WWD, clean brands have been very successful at weathering the Covid-19 storm (i.e. recession), while beauty fanatics doubled down on their skincare routines whilst in lockdown, which has led to the rise of a less-is-more approach when it comes to getting ready in the morning. And all this, of course, applies to brow styling; if 2019 was the year of microblading, 2020 – and 2021, respectively – are all about the brow lamination.
But what exactly is a brow lamination and is it as permanent as microblading? Here, Bazaar shares the in’s and out’s of the process and everything you need to know about the treatment, including the before and after.
Where to Get A Brow Lamination Done in Dubai?
While there are plenty of salons and spas that offer the service throughout Dubai, Bazaar sought out Brau in the Springs Souk to walk us through the entire process. The Insta-worthy salon, which specialises in brow and lash grooming, boasts a variety of services with attentive staff in a clean, socially-distanced environment.
What Exactly Happens During A Brow Lamination?
The whole process was quick and easy, and takes about 40 minutes depending on your brows, of course. It all started with threading first to remove excess eyebrow “fluff” (think of this as peach fuzz, but near your eyebrows.) The lamination solution is then applied, which sits on the brows for about eight minutes. While it isn’t painful, it’s normal to feel a slight tingle.
The brows are then brushed into place until they are soft and styled accordingly, before a second cream-based solution is applied to neutralise the lamination solution. A custom-coloured tint is then applied to darken the eyebrows; finally, the brows are shaped by either waxing, threading, or plucking (based on the client’s preference.)
How To Care for Newly Laminated Brows
After the treatment at Brau, clients are presented with a list of instructions for brow maintenance, which includes avoiding water and excessive touching for 24 hours post treatment and to keep the brows smooth and styled into place with natural oil, such as castor or rose oil.
Is Brow Lamination Permanent?
The short answers is no. While the treatment does “perm” the eyebrow hairs into place, results last four to six weeks, depending on how fast your brows grow. Brau recommends doing the treatment every eight weekends in order to keep up an “on-fleek” look.
“We recommend keeping the brows nourished and moisturized with a hydrating oil and to brush them into place every morning with a spoolie brush. For best results, allow a 6-week period between brow lamination treatments,” notes Caroline Mills, a senior brow artist at Brau.
The brow lamination process at Brau starts at Dhs330. For more information, visit Brau.ae or call 050 403 7551.
