This New Initiative Aims To Bring Italian Style To The UAE
The region known for exporting Italy’s finest in fashion now will showcase its goods within the region
Regione Emilia-Romagna is famous for creating some of the best in Italian fashion and leather goods – and while we might not be able to visit Italy any time soon this summer, residents throughout the region can still splurge on stunning pieces thanks to a new initiative aimed at bringing Italian brands to the Middle East.
Supported by Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna, the regional association of eight Chambers of Commerce of Emilia-Romagna and co-financed by Regione Emilia-Romagna, 14 different Italian brands are now being showcased within the UAE in a new initiative supported by Italian Fashion For The Middle East.
The initiative, known as the Italian fashion towards Dubai, includes brands such as Pinko, an independent fashion brand; Absolute Joy Jeans, best known for creating unique denim collections for men; and many more.
“The Emilia-Romagna region is known for the quality of manufactured textiles, clothing, leather garments, shoes, bags, accessories and jewelry. We chose the emirates to be our focus market for the second year of our initiative,” Director of Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna Claudio Pasini said.
According to Vincenzo Colla, Regional Councilor for Economic Development and Green Economy, Work, Training in Italy, the region represents the third manufacturing sector by value of exports and the fifth by number of employees.
As Italy was one of the countries hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus pandemic, Italian Fashion For The Middle East provides shoppers with the opportunity to support Italian craftsmanship and small businesses.
“The project is an important occasion for the supply chain because it is articulated in precise phase and allows to make critical mass – the quality of the enterprises, the variety of the production, and the capacity to present the productions on international markets are important levers in approaching this area,” says Giovanni Roncucci, Chairman of Roncucci&Partners, technical partner of the initiative.
