Just when we thought we’d hit the peak of extravagance with reports of Adele, Drake, and Lana Del Rey performing at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding festivities next week, the Ambani’s have surprised us yet again.
In an incredible turn of events, Justin Bieber has just touched down in Mumbai. A video shared by paparazzi shows Bieber’s convoy, flanked by heavy security, making its way through the city this morning. The international pop sensation is set to perform at the Sangeet ceremony this Friday, July 5, and rumour has it he’s being paid a staggering $10 million for his star-studded appearance.
Rewind to yesterday, when the billionaire family hosted a spectacular mameru ceremony—a traditional Gujarati wedding ritual where the bride’s maternal uncle arrives with sweets and gifts. Radhika looked breathtaking in a custom Manish Malhotra lehenga, accessorised with her mother’s heirloom jewellery.
Footage from last night reveals the Ambani residence in all its splendor, adorned with vibrant red, pink, and orange flowers. A digital screen featuring charming caricatures of Anant and Radhika beamed with the message, “All the best.”
But this is just the beginning. The main ceremonies will kick off with the Shubh Vivah (wedding ceremony) on Friday, July 12, followed by the Shubh Aashirwad (divine blessing) on July 13, and will culminate in a lavish reception on July 14.
