UAE authorities confirmed that the downpours from late Monday through Tuesday night were the heaviest in 75 years, surpassing any recorded precipitation since data collection began in 1949.

The weather bureau recorded the highest rainfall in the Khatm Al Shakla area in Al Ain, reaching 254 mm in less than 24 hrs.

The Emirates encountered numerous challenges due to the severe weather conditions, yet officials and citizens united to prioritise the safety of everyone.
