Saudi’s First Festival-Wear Brand BANI BEAST Launches Ahead Of SOUNDSTORM 21

The edgy-chic streetwear brand has unveiled its line-up of future-proof designs

The Kingdom’s very first homegrown festival-wear brand, BANI BEAST, revealed its inaugural clothing line at the XP Music Conference, igniting interest in festivalgoers ahead of MDLBEAST’s flagship festival, SOUNDSTORM 21.

With an ethos of future-proof designs that are ‘locally inspired and globally relevant, the brand has taken a bold take on timeless fashion.

“BANI BEAST is inspired from the first SOUNDSTORM festival when it was really cold and we saw the local Saudi ‘farwa’ being worn by everyone at the festival,” says MDLBEAST Chief Creative Officer Ahmad Alammary, also known as DJ Baloo.

“This is a quintessentially Saudi garment that became an essential part of SOUNDSTORM’s unique festival identity, so we wanted to elevate that to a whole new level. We looked to create something that is designed and is inspired by local wear, but with a twist that makes it just as wearable in New York, as it is in Riyadh.”

The MDLBEAST-owned clothing brand takes its cue from Arab tribal culture, uniting music-lovers across Saudi and the region. Modern fashion is built on vintage designs, with enduring garments that feature music-inspired graphics.

Three BANI BEAST booths will be present during SOUNDSTORM 21, and the brand will offer its pieces throughout the year in streetwear outlets across the Kingdom and at its online store.

Translating to ‘kin of beast’, the local label has plans to collaborate with renowned Saudi designers in future, upping the festival-fashion game the world over.
