Qatar’s Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition Makes A Grand Return
The 18th edition of the fashion showcase is, as the theme suggests, set to ignite
Launched in 2007 as a collaborative platform for emerging local designers, female entrepreneurs and fashion enthusiasts, Qatar’s Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition was envisioned to empower like-minded individuals in the industry and place their talent on a global map.
Now a thriving space to discover the chicest Arabian contemporary and modest fashion, the event brings together thousands of women each year.

On view until 17 December and organised by Qatar Tourism and Qatar Business Events Corporation (QBEC), the 18th edition of the exhibition has welcomed visitors at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC). Aptly themed Ignite, the annual showcase is graced by female entrepreneurs across Qatar and the Middle East.

Established and budding designers from across the region are invited to showcase their talent, spanning rare products and fashion innovations.
From regional to international designers, this year’s edition features over 130 brands from the GCC, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Morocco, Qatar and Turkey – presenting high-street fashion, haute couture, luxury modest evening gowns and abayas, as well as accessories, perfumes and cosmetics.

A testament to its growing commitment to the art world, for the very first time Heya has joined hands with AlHosh Gallery in Msheireb Downtown, where local artists have the opportunity to display their works.
The women-only exhibition is also home to a series of nine talk shows that are shining a light on fashion icons and designers, and of course leading names from the education and media fields. From the importance of communication to the role of social media in developing a brand; how the global pandemic has shifted our focus; and adopting more sustainable practices, the topics explore solutions to improve the future of fashion.

Eight fashion shows have been organised, of which two launched on the opening day, inaugurated by the Embassy of Indonesia and Al Hasnaa Signature designer line. Marking the fourth day, today will see three more shows by AlHosh Gallery, VCUarts Alumni and VCUarts Faculty.
The exhibition timings are from 10:00 – 22:00 from Sundays to Thursdays, and 15:00-22:00 on Friday.
