UAE Weather: Heavy Rain And Chilly Temperatures Expected This Week

It’s not yet time to pack away those coats and boots as another set of chilly days are ahead of us in the UAE, the weather bureau has predicted.

Will it Rain in The UAE This Week? NMC Forecasts Rainfall in Parts of The Emirates

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), on Wednesday and Thursday, UAE residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies at times over scattered areas of the country. There is also a chance of light to moderate rainfall, which could get heavy at times over some areas, especially northern, eastern, and southern parts of the country such as Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Abu Dhabi.

The western areas of the country, such as parts of Abu Dhabi, will be affected by strong north-westerly winds at times. From Thursday noon, temperatures will drop, and the amount of clouds will gradually decrease at night.

On Friday, clouds will appear over some eastern areas, such as parts of Sharjah and Fujairah, with a chance of rainfall during the daytime.

The weather pattern is expected to occur because the country is “be affected by a surface low-pressure system from the southwest, and an extension of an upper-air low-pressure system. Accompanied by a western jet stream with different amounts of clouds flowing from the west at intervals,” a statement released by the NCM read.

If you are planning a beach day anytime soon, you may want to rethink those plans as conditions at sea are expected to get rough to very rough at times, especially on Thursday, the NCM reported.

Earlier this month, heavy rain and a hailstorm had struck the country. Bazaar Arabia had spoken to a meteorology expert from the NCM who said that the rain was enhanced by cloud seeding.
