Yes, you heard that right, one of the largest social media platforms could be changing its name and it has everything to do with its newest CEO, Elon Musk.
If you didn’t already know, the 51-year-old South African billionaire closed a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter on October 27, 2022 and almost immediately after acquiring the social media platform, the billionaire wasted no time when it came to making drastic changes – a few of those changes consisted of immediately firing Twitter’s long-term staff as well as offering users to pay for verification (for a hefty 524 AED price tag).

Now, the next change in store for Twitter is its name. According to Forbes, Twitter has been informing business owners that going forward it will be known as X Corp as its CEO – Elon – continues to reshape the social media platform towards its ultimate version of the X “everything app,”
Why Is Twitter Being Renamed X Corp?
It must be noted that although confusing, the social media platform itself is not being renamed to X Corp but Twitter, Inc itself. Unfortunately, there isn’t a clear answer as to why but one can only assume the change has a hand in Elon’s future direction for the micro-blogging platform.
