World of Fashion 2021: All The Highlights From Day One
From a futuristic fashion film to a live on-stage talks with one of the industry’s most innovative design duos, World of Fashion 2021 kicked off with a bang yesterday afternoon
Day One of World of Fashion has officially come and gone, and with it the first few talks and styling sessions with leading experts from the region – and beyond. From homegrown concepts to creative masterminds (that came all the way from Paris to attend the opening night) yesterday’s celebrations set the tone for the days to come.
Throughout the week Harper’s Bazaar Arabia and Mall of the Emirates will be exploring, unpacking and celebrating this year’s elusive theme, “Fashion The Future,” as we invite our speakers and hosts to share their thoughts on the evolution of style, beauty, art and sustainability in a post “New Norm” era.
As guests arrived at the World of Fashion stand, located in the mall’s Central Galleria, they were invited to sample a few tasty treats by Ladurée, touch up their make-up at Charlotte Tilbury and admire some of the season’s most coveted pieces, hand selected by the Bazaar Arabia fashion team.
The festivities commenced as Bazaar Arabia’s contributing luxury editor Rosemin Madhavji took to the stage to host a styling session with The Style Doctors, in partnership with THAT Concept Store.
Rosemin and personal stylist, Maria, explored Autumn-Winter 2021’s biggest trends, sharing styling tips with the audience.
Opening night celebrations saw Bazaar Arabia’s Deputy Editor, Jessica Michault, share with the audience a taste of what they could expect throughout the week’s events, from make-up masterclasses to styling sessions and more, before the screening of Italian filmmaker Mattia Holm’s short fashion film. Shot and produced entirely at Mall of the Emirates, the plot follows two time travellers on their quest to collect “specimens” from the year 2021, bringing back this season’s hottest trends to the future.
Next, Jessica welcomed Coperni founders Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant to the stage; the Parisienne design duo shared insight into their creative process, how technology influences their designs, and revealed why some of their best work came out of the pandemic. All guests received a specially curated Bazaar take away bag that included the latest October 2021 issue, gourmet chocolates from Pierre Marcolini and more.
VIP guests finished the evening with a dinner at GARTH, a new bistro located within private members club The 9 at Kempinski Mall of the Emirates.
Overall, Day One of World of Fashion 2021 was a huge success and Bazaar Arabia looks forward to welcoming our esteemed speakers, hosts and guests throughout.
Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s World of Fashion 2021, in partnership with Mall of the Emirates, is on now until October 16. For more information on how to attend and the full schedule, click here.
