Serious wanderlust guaranteed...

Travelling across the world and looking for a unique, authentic way to experience a new place? Airbnb is your one. They're renowned for providing homes that cater to every type of globetrotter, from a cosy city loft to an opulent island villa. And now, the online marketplace is upping their luxury travel game with a new, bespoke experience that will allow everyone to travel in style.

With Airbnb Luxe, the home is the destination. Ever fancied staying at Ian Fleming's beachfront villa in Jamaica, where the author penned the Bond novels? Or renting an entire island, complete with its own self-declared time zone, in French Polynesia? Airbnb Luxe is inviting you to do exactly that, with 2,000 fresh property listings that include historic Tuscan villas, romantic French chateaus and dreamy South African beach retreats. It doesn't exclude city breaks; homes in 12 cities including Milan, Paris and Austin will join the likes of a penthouse in Sloane Square or a Bel Air country club.

The personalised aspect comes in the form of a dedicated trip designer with every Airbnb Luxe booking, who's on hand to plan and coordinate activities and services tailored precisely to each traveller's needs (think arranging a private chef, personal trainer or in-house massage therapist).

The luxury travel market is a fast-growing one, already worth an estimated $200 billion (Dhs735 billion). Airbnb has picked up on the trend towards higher-end travel amongst its guests; the company reported a 60-percent increase in bookings for $1,000-a-night properties (around Dhs3,700).

But Airbnb wants to ensure that its service offers something for everyone. Following the launch of Airbnb Plus last year, now available in over 300 markets worldwide, the site's new Luxe tier adds another dimension to Airbnb's price range, giving travellers more choice as to the price point that best suits their budget.

Brian Chesky, Airbnb's Co-Founder, CEO and Head of Community, explains: "Today’s luxury traveler is craving more than just high-end accommodations; they seek transformation and experiences that leave them feeling more connected to each other and to their destination. With Airbnb Luxe we are applying the same approach we’ve used since we launched Airbnb more than 11 years ago — creating local, authentic and magical travel moments now in amazing places to stay — to reimagine the way people think and experience luxury travel."
