Millennials - come one, come all. It’s no secret that the UAE is home to some of the world’s foremost hotels - from breathtaking views to spectacular design and striking architecture, you can find it all in the Emirates. And now, Luxury Travel Advisor has crowned its king of the picture-perfect lodgings, and it’s a mere stone’s throw away: the Qasr Al Sarab resort on the edges of Abu Dhabi.
It defeated its close rival for the accolade, Viceroy Los Cabos resort in Mexico, earning 61-percent of votes in an online poll.
In the heart of the Arabian Peninsula’s vast, awe-inspiring Empty Quarter desert, this resort offers unique experiences to travellers, made possible by its secluded, serene location amongst the fiery dunes. Marrying adventure and luxury, guests are able to dine under the stars, cross the desert by camel, spend a night in a private desert villa and spoil themselves with a full hammam treatment.
The hotel’s towers obviously provide the perfect vantage point from which to capture Instagram-worthy snaps (no filter needed) of Rub Al Khali’s unbroken dunes, but the Qasr Al Sarab’s own traditional courtyards, pools and eye-catching architecture offer some enviable content for the Instagram feed - when illuminated at night, the hotel’s fortress-like structure has an air of magic and resembles a palace in an oasis. An opulent Bedouin-style dining experience, accompanied by an atmospheric fire and candles, also makes for a picture-perfect setting.
