The singer revealed on Twitter last night that the men who own the rights to her music are blocking her from performing her old songs

Yesterday, Taylor Swift took to Twitter calling for help from her fans after revealing that the men who own the rights to her music, Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta, had allegedly prohibited her from performing her old songs at the upcoming American Music Awards, where she will be honoured as Artist of the Decade.

Swift also revealed that Braun and Borchetta are preventing Netlfix from using her old recordings and archived performance footage to produce an upcoming documentary about her life.

On Twitter, the award-winning singer stated that, "Scott Borchetta told my team that they'll allow me to use my music only if I do these things: If I agree to not re-record copycat versions of my songs next year (which is something I’m both legally allowed to do and looking forward to) and also told my team that I need to stop talking about him and Scooter Braun."

Big Machine Label Group, meanwhile, have denied Swift's accusations, issuing a statement where they claimed, "At no point did we say Taylor could not perform on the AMAs or block her Netflix special."

Celebrities, fans and fellow musicians were quick to rally behind Swift on social media, showing their support with the hashtag #IStandWithTaylor.

This is not the first time Swift has spoken out against her troublesome relationship with Scooter Braun. Earlier this year, per reports by CBS, Braun's media holding company acquired the rights to Swift's music, where the singer stated she experienced "incessant, manipulative bullying" at the hands of her music label.
