Karl once said, “If you ask me what I’d most like to have invented in fashion, I’d say the white shirt. For me, the shirt is the basis of everything. Everything else comes after.”

In remembrance and celebration of the beloved Karl Lagerfeld and as part of an exclusive tribute project paying homage to his unparalleled talents, President and Managing Director of The Etoile Group and Creative Director of INGIE Paris Ingie Chalhoub has just fashioned a bespoke unisex white top inspired by the late designer’s signature collared shirt, reflecting his chic style.

The embroidered shirt is designed with luxury materials such as white feathers, lace and crystals, intertwining elements of Karl’s creative identity with Chalhoub’s distinctive influences.

Chalhoub was personally invited by the Maison Karl Lagerfeld to create something special that carries on the late designer’s spirit. “I am very honoured to have been selected to participate in this project because it is a beautiful tribute to a person I have appreciated, admired and followed over many years,” she says.

“I wanted to design an extravagant item that I’m sure he would enjoy being seen worn at anytime by any gender. This shirt will hopefully represent an allegorical bridge between my own creative vision and that of Karl himself, who had a very strong personality, voice and image with a great impact on the world of fashion.”

The design masterpiece is being exhibited at the Maison Karl Lagerfeld in Paris during Paris Fashion Week alongside designs by others who have participated in the international tribute project.
