Kit Harington’s Reaction To Learning Jon Snow Kills Daenerys Will Make You Weep

We’re not crying, you are!

It’s been over a week since the finale episode of Game of Thrones aired, and fans still aren’t ready to let go of the decade-long storyline and the characters that went with it. This week, behind-the-scenes footage of the casts’ final table read landed on the internet – and no one was quite prepared for what happened.

Unlike most of his Game of Thrones co-stars, Kit Harington did not read the scripts ahead of the Season 8 table read, and his real-time reaction was caught on camera.

After learning that his character, Jon Snow, kills Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in the finale, the actor, who married co-star Rose Leslie last year, put his hands in his hair, covered his mouth, pushed himself back in his chair, and shot a mournful look at Clarke while taking it all in. At the end of the table read, others leave the room, but Harington and Clarke sit for a second, both visibly teary.

A polar opposite reaction, though, was when the cast read through Arya killing the Night King.
