Meghan Markle may have swapped her title of Hollywood royalty for real-life royalty, but her former Suits co-stars still look back on her acting days with the utmost love and respect.
Wendell Pierce, who played the Duchess' on-screen father in the hit TV show, has recently opened up about working with the royal in an interview for the BBC's radio show, Desert Island Discs, noting that working with Meghan "was great... She’s a really good actress and was always sweet, always kind."
The actor also revealed how he saved Meghan from a potential PR disaster whilst she was dating Prince Harry. When Meghan's character, Rachel Zane, got engaged on the show, Pierce helped his co-star avoid any unecessary confusion with the press by making sure there were no false engagement rumours circling around the former actress in real life.

Following our tradition of rotating the accounts we follow on a monthly basis, for the month of October we are celebrating “community.” • Over the last week on their official tour to Southern Africa, The Duke and Duchess have had a poignant reminder of the importance of community - the sense of support and togetherness that is felt from feeling like you are a part of something that respects difference but also celebrates shared values for the greater good. Please let us know the favourite organisation in your community - one you enjoy volunteering for, or that makes you proud to be a part of - one that supports you personally in your everyday life, and that defines what you feel community is all about. Based on your suggestions we will then choose our new accounts to follow for October. Thanks so much and thanks for being a part of the Sussex community! Photo High Commission
"We were shooting one day, before the engagement [to Prince Harry]," he explained in the interview. "In the show she was engaged, and she had a ring on. We were about to get out of the car and I said, 'Don’t get out. Give us the ring. There’s a paparazzo down the street. If a photograph got out with you with a ring on, it would explode all over the world.'"
Pierce also shed light on his final bit of advice for Meghan before she left Hollywood to join the British royal family. "When we had the final scenes I said: 'Listen, your world is going to be forever changed, and no matter where you are, you can always know that you have a friend in me.'"
