What All The Royals Wore To Archie’s Christening
Prince Harry’s aunts and Princess Diana’s sisters, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, were also in attendance
Members of the royal family gathered at Windsor Castle this weekend for baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s christening.
Meghan and Harry released Archie’s official portraits, snapped by photographer Chris Allerton, on Instagram so that the world could share in the happy occasion.
The Duchess of Sussex chose a white Dior dress, and her son was dressed in a handmade replica of the royal family’s christening robe, made by the Queen’s dressmaker, Angela Kelly.
“The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter,” the Instagram post said. “It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue.”
Kate Middleton and Doria Ragland both chose a pink. The Duchess of Cambridge is wearing Stella McCartney.
Prince Harry’s aunts and Princess Diana’s sisters —Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale – were also in attendance, and wore cream coloured suits.
