6:30 A.M. My son Flynn’s bus arrives to take him to school at 7am, so the whole house gets up at the same time. We recently got a puppy – a chocolate Lab – and she sometimes acts as our alarm clock, because she can’t wait to get up and go out in the morning.

7:00 A.M. I work out with a trainer twice a week in the mornings, but on the days I don’t, I jump in the shower after seeing my son off. I don’t really wash my hair that often; I go about four days without washing it and my hair feels so much better for it. I swear by the Dermalogica Microfoliant Face Wash, it foams up really nicely and my face always feels great.

7:30 A.M. I wear a lot of different brands when I get dressed. I love mixing Kate Spade pieces that I’ve designed with other staples in my wardrobe. In terms of make-up, my go-tos are the Crème de La Mer moisturiser and Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk foundation. I remember when Kim Kardashian called them out on Twitter for discontinuing it, and then they brought it back again.

8:00 A.M. I get to work anywhere between 8 and 9am and I always travel to work by cab. I live in Dumbo, New York but it’s usually quite a fast trip because we go straight over the Brooklyn Bridge and cut through Park Avenue, between 32nd and 33rd. The Kate Spade offices are in a beautiful old-school New York building. We just recently renovated the floor that the showrooms are on, and it’s such a creative and eclectic space now.

9:00 A.M. I usually have my breakfast in the office, which is typically a couple of boiled eggs and spinach. Each day in the office is so varied. I take care of 30 categories in the Kate Spade brand, so I spend a lot of time with each of the different design teams; one day I might focus on handbags, the next might be on ready-to-wear. One of my favourite pieces I’ve ever designed was a dress from my first collection and Pippa Middleton wore it to Gabriella Windsor’s wedding. Priyanka Chopra often wears our pieces as well, which is really exciting because it just shows what a range of women can wear Kate Spade.

1:00 P.M. I don’t often break for lunch, or if I do, I will eat it whilst I work, which is very New York. I usually have a salad or a lentil soup.

7:00 P.M. I usually get home late in the evening, but I’ve made a promise to myself that at least two nights a week I will be at home to put my son to bed. At the moment I’m trying to create boundaries to make sure I am being present for my family.

7:30 P.M.  I’m a terrible cook, so my husband usually does most of that and I stick to decorating the table, buying the flowers and generally just working on our interiors.

8 :00 P.M. We spend a lot of weekends at our beach house; it’s a good break from living in the city. I love being in the countryside and by the ocean and this is the perfect family escape. But during the week, I put Flynn to bed and more often than not, I will fall asleep in his bed too. Otherwise, my husband and I watch TV or I read before I go to sleep. I’m in the middle of watching Big Little Lies season two. Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman are utterly brilliant.

10:00 P.M. I always take another shower before bed. There’s something about living in New York that just makes you feel like you really need to shower when you get home. I then slather a facial oil on; I’ve really got into them recently.

11:30 P.M. I’m quite a deep sleeper, so it’s usually lights off by 11:00 P.M. and I always try and get around seven hours of sleep at least!
