Watch: Bazaar Goes Shopping With Diala Makki

Inside our luxury shopping spree at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi

Taking luxury retail, dining and lifestyle to the next level, The Galleria on Al Maryah Island boasts over 130 of the world’s leading brands; so it may come as little surprise that this is the go-to shopping spot for the UAE’s style setters. This month, Bazaar was invited by fashion icon and global influencer Diala Makki on the ultimate shopping spree at the Abu Dhabi-based mall.

Starting off in Fendi, Diala talks us through the latest pieces she saw strutting down the runway from her front row seat before interviewing Karl Lagerfeld at the brand’s fashion week show – we’re not jealous at all! Favourites of our fashion icon include the exotic Peekaboo bag, an exclusive to The Galleria on Al Maryah Island paired with the super cute Karlito bag charm.

Turning attention from bags and accessories to fine jewellery, our next stop of the day is Cartier, where Diala picks out a piece from the iconic Panthere collection, an offering synonymous with the brand. During a recent trip to Paris, the Iranian-born Beirut-based TV host was treated to a first-hand look at how these impeccable pieces of jewellery are made – seriously, we promise we’re not jealous! Making our way to Van Cleef & Arpels, Diala shows us how she’d style the brand’s nature-inspired jewels and talks us through the timeless offering of the brand.

We soon make our way to Roger Vivier, where Diala shows us her favourite pair of the fashion house’s latest range of buckle-toed pumps before styling up a storm in Celine in a stunning red cape dress and matching sling-back kitten heals. Our day comes to a close in DVF, where we make a bee-line for the brand’s iconic wrap dress which celebrated 40 years in 2017!

Finishing in one of The Galleria on Al Maryah Island’s many fine dining options, Coya Abu Dhabi, our fabulous duo toast to a successful shopping trip and plan the next spree – naturally after attending the Autumn/Winter 2018 shows!
