Watch | Bizarre Beauty: Is Dripping In Gold The Best Remedy For Your Skin?

An 80-minute journey as good as gold – literally

Another week, another bit of Bizarre Beauty. This week’s episode took place at Four Seasons Abu Dhabi at the equal parts lush and tranquil Dahlia Spa – if you haven’t blocked out an entire day for some rest and recuperation, we suggested you do so stat, preferably after a particularly trying week!

And so, in the world of weird and wonderful wellness, Georgie Bradley went on an 80-minute Gold (gold!) Quartz journey. It involved all the hallmarks of a regal and exotic experience such as a poultice massage (using steam-heated packs of herbs and spices), some singing bowls and best of all, hot sand therapy, which is a borrowed healing tradition from yesteryear – extremely yesteryear in fact.

Between necessary kneading and gentle pummelling to waves of gold quartz billowing around the body, we’d say this is the perfect treatment to ‘fix’ you on all fronts.

Topping off your day of wellness at Dahlia Spa, you really should make a pit stop on your way out of the hotel at Al Meylas lobby lounge. Four Seasons Abu Dhabi’s Executive Sous Chef Christian Buenrostro is behind the innovative and highly nourishing Raw Vegan menu, which sits side-by-side a litany of delicious menu items. Once you devour the baby gem tacos, vegan pizza and banana pie whole, you'll realise that it's the best thing you didn't know you needed in your life. Let's just put it this way, it's all the flavour and none of the guilt.
