The world of luxury fashion is taking note as South Korean entertainment enters mainstream popularity. J-Hope from Korean boy band BTS is the latest K-Pop star to land an exciting deal with Louis Vuitton.
The rapper is the latest addition to the star-studded list of Louis Vuitton ambassadors including Hong Kong rapper Jackson Wang and American actor Bradley Cooper.
Joining his bandmate Jimin who signed with Dior just last month, J-Hope represents a new era of luxury fashion that is led by ingenious collaborations between the industry and successful K-Entertainment acts such as BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Jisoo, and NewJeans’ Minji.
Since the band announced a hiatus in June 2022 so that the seven members could fulfil their mandatory military obligations and concentrate on solo releases, Suga was brought in to represent Maison Valentino. Rumours around RM’s partnership with Bottega Veneta are making waves among BTS fans as he is set to attend the Italian house’s Milan Fashion Week Fall 2023 show on Saturday, February 25.
Apart from his crucial contributions to the Bangtan boys, J-Hope has an impressive catalogue of solo projects. The 29-year-old singer and rapper released his solo mixtape titled Hope World in 2018, a chartbusting single Chicken Noodle Soup with Becky G in 2019, and the most recent project, his debut studio album Jack in the Box in 2022.
Along with his illustrious career in music, J-Hope has established himself as an expressive and experimental fashion icon over the years.
Described as “Hobicore” by fans, the eclectic performer’s distinct style and striking looks have paved the way for his exciting deal with the legendary French brand which is entering a fresh, new era under its creative director Pharrell Williams.
