Beauty Diaries: Ayah Tabari On How To Achieve A No Make-Up Make-Up Look And Her Obsession With Mochi Ice Creams

The designer and entrepeneur tells BAZAAR how to achieve the no make-up make-up look, ultimate in-flight essentials and life as a pescetarian...

Favourite make-up brand? I love Glossier. It’s all about subtle enhancements and easy application. With a new baby, I don’t have time to sit and do my make-up for hours, so I adore that this brand still shows my natural skin and gives me just what I need.

Foundation/Concealer: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Set (Dhs200). On a day-to-day basis I usually only wear concealer where I need it. I like how light and fresh this one makes my face look, and it’s buildable, should I need extra coverage.

Mascara: Maybelline Colossal (Dhs65) gives my lashes the perfect amount of lift and a natural finish without clumping.

Signature scent: Givenchy Interdit (Dhs440) is my current favourite. It has a unique scent; warm and sweet.

Hair schedule: Colour every eight weeks, trim every three months.

Style secret: To get perfectly tousled hair I dance while my hair is drying!

Treatments: I like to do a hair mask once a week as a treat to both my hair and myself. I’ve really been loving Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask recently. It’s made with plant-based and infused superfoods for your hair.

Skincare routine: In the morning, Bioderma Photoderm MAX Crème 50+ for sun protection, Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream (Dhs300) to moisturise, Aesop Lightweight Facial Hydrating Serum for added moisture, and a pink quartz face roller (Dhs150). Then in the evening, Glossier Milky Jelly Facial Cleanser, Pixi Glow Tonic, Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate for a night serum, and my jade roller.

Go-to product: Pixi Glycolic Complexion Glow Peel Pads (Dhs125). Perfect because I can use them on-the-go and they renew my skin texture with a great glow.

Flight essentials: Youth to The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask. I’ll hop on my flight, put a layer on my face and fall asleep. When I wake up, it’s all been absorbed and I’m left with radiant, plump skin. Anti jet-lag in a bottle! Also Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (Dhs80).

Manicure: White nail polish at The Nail Pavilion. I keep my nails neutral because I express myself through the colours of the rainbow with All Things Mochi.

Attitude to injectables: If it’s going to make you feel happy, go for it!

Future intervention: Sun-spot removal and laser facials.

Most invasive procedure: Microneedling!

Food intolerances: Thankfully, none. I love to experiment with new foods, but I try to eat clean and healthy. Lots of fish and not much chicken or meat. I like to keep it balanced.

Go-to snack: Healthy granola mix and assorted nuts.

Workout method: Yoga and Pilates help me feel focused, strong, and ready for my day.

Guilty food pleasure: Mochi ice cream!

Breakfast: Avocado on wholegrain toast, drizzled with olive oil, and iced coffee.
