Exclusive: Peter Philips Introduces The New Rouge Dior Ultra Care Line

The luxury brand is dropping hot new shades just in time for summer and you’re going to want them all

Dior is releasing an all-new Rouge Dior Ultra Care lipstick line and it’s longer lasting, more nourishing and better than ever. In a new promo clip, Dior Makeup’s Creative and Image Director and the brains behind the collection, Belgian makeup artist extraordinaire Peter Philips, breaks down the formula of the new products and gives us an insight into what inspired them.

He reveals that he took inspiration from the varying shades and smells in a bouquet of flowers, branding the collection a ‘tribute to flowers’. The colours range from Dior’s signature and much-loved 999 red lip (it’s still there, don’t panic!) to orange and rosewood hues – there’s something for everyone, but they’re all super wearable colours (no ‘extreme shades’, as Philips puts it). 

This line promises more caring elements than ever; actual flower extracts as well as nourishing oils are the latest additions to the existing lipstick formula, which will have a finish that’s somewhere between matte yet still lustrous.

The Ultra Care Liquid lip stain is the go-to for anyone looking for everyday radiance – it’s so lightweight that you’ll probably forget you’re wearing it. Its flower petal-inspired applicator eases the process of applying, spreading and contouring and provides, per Philips, a ‘velvety-matte result’.
