Here’s What Huda Beauty Is Doing To Support Doctors Without Borders

One of the world’s fastest-growing beauty brands has donated thousands to the organization and is encouraging others to do the same, in the fight against COVID-19

As healthcare professionals around the world are risking their lives to deliver vital care to those suffering from COVID-19, Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières a.k.a. MSF) is protecting those most vulnerable and at risk – such as the elderly, refugees, migrants, and homeless people – as their teams are working in over 70 countries and responding to the pandemic on multiple fronts.

Huda Beauty, the cosmetics company founded by Dubai-based beauty blogger Huda and her sister Mona Kattan, has been supporting MSF with donations and social media amplifications since 2016. 

The company recently pledged $150,000 (approx. Dhs551,000) as its team continues to explore ways to give back during these trying times.

“Working with Doctors Without Borders has been so important for us because our family were immigrants, and several of our extended family members and friends have been made refugees by the political crises in their home countries. So, we really empathize with all underserved communities who either don’t have access to or aren’t able to afford healthcare,” Huda and Mona Kattan said, in a recent statement.

“That’s why for us, the work that MSF does is so crucial and when it time came to choose which charity organization we wanted to get behind to fight the COVID-19 crisis, they were the first people that came to mind and we’re so proud to be partnering with them.”

Doctors Without Borders is also caring for patients, offering health education and mental health support, distributing personal protective equipment and providing vital training in infection control measures.

Co-founder Huda Kattan also recently pledged $200,000 (approx. Dhs374,000) to support freelance MUAs who are out of work.
