There is something to be said about the dreadfulness of a global pandemic that warrants abolishing some, if not all, stages of an otherwise rigorous beauty regime. Cleanser, toner, and essence? In this environment? We think not. Alas Hector Espinal, global makeup artist for Fenty Beauty, thinks otherwise.
“It prevents you from getting depressed!” Hector said to E! News, in response to how beauty can help amid challenging times. “One of the things I’ve been doing that I’ve been telling people [to do] is continue your routine.”
For Hector, this routine includes manicures, cologne and a healthy dose of post-routine selfie action. He is adamant that it works and, just like the rest of us, he does admit there are days he would prefer to forego self-pampering but, on all accounts, it pays off and can have a positive effect on one’s mood.
Not to be conflated with excess, Hector firmly believes in the notion that less is more. While at home, the Fenty Beauty guru recommends ditching the foundation for a “peachy” concealer that prompts freshness, a combination of blush and bronzer to look awakened, and a little bit of mascara to seal the deal.
His advice couldn’t be more well-timed, especially with the launch of two new Fenty Beauty products: the Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush and the Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer.
