L’Orèal Paris And Karl Lagerfeld Launch A Make-Up Line
The two Parisienne brands have collaborated on a collection launching this September
This week the fashion world mourned the passing of legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld, and following the Karl For Ever memorial event in Paris news comes of a collaboration between his eponymous fashion house and famed beauty brand L’Orèal Paris.
A project initiated before Lagerfeld’s death this February, the forthcoming make-up collection will channel the designer’s rock-chic style balanced with Parisienne elegance and the high-street cosmetic company’s democratic beauty ethos.
Caroline Lebar, head of image and communication at Maison Karl Lagerfeld, said: “This line of make-up truly reflects the Karl Lagerfeld brand universe and what Karl loved in make-up – he often used eyeshadows as colours in his sketches.”
She continued, “L’Orèal Paris has an inclusive message of beauty for all: Karl liked it when a collaboration resonated with his brand and would make a real impact to many people.”
It’s not the designer’s first beauty collaboration, last year he launched a capsule make-up collection with Model Co.. Of course, in his role as the creative director of Chanel, Lagerfeld would have overseen some of the most high-profile fragrance and cosmetics launches in the world. It’s also said that he would conceive details including the beauty looks for his runway shows in his sleep.

There are no details yet of the collection’s contents, but we predict beauty classics such as black kohl liner and red lipstick will feature, as well as eye shadows worthy of fashion sketches. The collection will launch with a campaign inspired by Lagerfeld’s brand codes and famous sayings, such as ‘Embrace the present and invent the future’.
Delphine Viguier, L’Orèal Paris global brand president, said, “all of our fashion designer collaborations are an honour, but this one is particularly meaningful.”
She adds, “We look forward to sharing with the world the make-up born from this creative connection: Karl Lagerfeld’s rock chic and L’Orèal Paris’ empowered vision of beauty.”
The brands will launch the make-up collection on 27 September 2019, on the eve of Paris Fashion Week spring/summer 2020
