Held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the sixth edition of Dubai Design Week presents a diverse programme of over 150 events and activities in d3 and across the city.
With both virtual and on-site activations, Downtown Design’s programme is structured to inspire the design industry; by spotlighting experimental architectural and interior design concepts by over 25 studios from the UAE, KSA, Kuwait and Lebanon.
Here are some exciting programmes that are highly anticipated.
The inaugural MENA Grad Show showcases 50 of the most exciting social impact innovation projects set to improve lives. During the exhibition, visitors can meet graduates virtually and learn about their work and understand their approach to problem-solving through a series of interactive films.

Developed by Middle East designers, the multimedia exhibition The Shape of Things to Come, presents progressive design concepts for the post-pandemic world.

The Abwab 2020 commissioned Iraqi designer Hozan Zangana to create the Fata Morgana piece. Zangana collaborated with Generous Studio and Woodcast Designs to create a framework of a modern city featuring pillars in a singular landmark pavilion, symbolising the seven Emirates.
The artist has thoughtfully incorporated socially distanced seating for visitors to have a safe experience.

The UAE Designer Exhibition highlights the innovative works of 20 local artists. Staged in the outdoor pedestrian setting of Dubai Design District, 25 outdoor installations respond to the challenges of physical distancing requirements: the theme of Dubai Design Week 2020.

A series of urban interventions titled The Colour of Distance aims to guide visitors through the festival with the use of lights and colours by MAS Paints.
Montreal-based Studio Iregular created an immersive technological experience Points in Common which allows visitors to experience a shared digital interaction onsite.

Dubai Design Week Marketplace in D3, on 13-14 November will gather over 70 of Dubai’s best artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs for a large outdoor retail initiative. Endorsed by Dubai Culture, the Marketplace will showcase talented entrepreneurs in Dubai and offers visitors the opportunity to purchase original, locally made, high quality products.
In addition to the marketplace, the extensive weekend programme includes family activities like seed planting and pottery classes. Visitors can enjoy a variety of delicious food and beverages from pop-ups and other restaurants, cafes and bars located in d3.
