Frank Ocean At Coachella: What Really Happened?

A source close to the “Nikes” singer has come forward to set the record straight

Frank Ocean At Coachella: What Really Happened? From injured ankles to running over schedule here is everything we know…

Coachella, have you heard of it? It’s only regarded as one of the largest and most infamous music and arts festivals in the world, with some of the biggest names and emerging talents that the music industry gathering together each year after vigorous training – and for some dreaming – for their breakthrough moment on one of Coachella’s many stages.

We’re only six days into Coachella 2023, and to say history is being made would be an understatement. BLACKPINK returned to the stage this week for the first time since becoming the first-ever K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella – only this time, one of the biggest girl groups of all time became the first Korean act to headline the music festival.

That same day on Saturday, the Palestinian-Chilean singer-songwriter – Elyanna – made headlines after becoming the first-ever artist to perform a full set in Arabic at Coachella. In a matter of seconds, Elyanna had shut down the Gobi stage, singing some of her biggest hits such as Ana Lahale and Al Kawn Janni Mawk, meanwhile, tears were shed by supporters as they rejoiced in a life-changing moment.

But if you thought Coachella was able to dodge any controversy this year, you’d be wrong. Aside from influencers being branded as ‘privileged’ for leaving the music festival early, Frank Ocean is now having his turn in the hot seat after the 35-year-old singer-songwriter left fans waiting for an hour for his performance.

Unfortunately, leaving fans out in the cold for an hour wasn’t all that happened during the highly-anticipated performance and fans of the White Ferrari singer have begun to pop up on TikTok re-telling their own experience at the concert, with the majority saying Frank spent most of the performance shielded from the audiences view and even cut the performance short saying, “Guys, I’m being told it’s curfew, so that’s the end of our show. Thank you so much,”

So, days after Frank’s performance on Sunday rumours surrounding the singer-songwriter having an injured ankle among other things began to spread online which is why a source close to the artist has come out to clarify what happened the night of the performance.

According to the source, Bazaar Arabia can confirm Frank suffered from an ankle injury at on-site rehearsals in the week leading up to the music festival and due to the accident, the production was adjusted according to a doctor’s advice and despite concertgoers complaining the set was cut short, the source added that the set ran fifteen minutes longer than his planned performance time.

Bazaar Arabia also found out that the dancers on stage were wearing custom Prada and one can’t help but wonder if, similar to the dancers at Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, they were able to take the designer outfits home.
