Glowing in another stylish maternitywear ensemble — a gorgeous light-washed denim cape with the perfect diamond and sapphire necklace — while she went on stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas as a surprise guest was Rihanna. The star announced her casting in Paramount Animation’s The Smurfs Movie, as per reports by Yahoo!.
“I’ll be playing Smurfette. I tried to get the Papa Smurf part, but it didn’t work out,” the singer quipped as she addressed the audience with the head of Paramount Animation Ramsey Naito. He explained that the latest exploration of everyone’s favorite little blue creatures — which is set to release in February 2025 according to People — will dive into the question, “What is a Smurf?”
Previously, Rihanna did voice acting for DreamWorks’ animated film Home and also has an impressive list of acting credits in projects such as Ocean’s Eight, Battleship, and others. Most recently, her hit single Lift Me Up for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was nominated for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards.
