Selena Gomez On Her Weight: She Addresses The Body Shaming in A New Live
In a recent TikTok live, the award-winning singer-songerwriter talked candidly about her lupus and the side effects of her medication…
Since announcing her Lupus diagnosis back in 2015, Selena Gomez has been at the centre of the ongoing conversation about her body. From body shamers to nosy fans asking personal questions, the musician continues to share her truth with the world.
In her documentary My Mind & Me, the former Disney Channel star voiced her issues with her body image as well as mental health, and also highlighted how working on the documentary was a healing experience for her, as reported by CNN.
However, it seems like the vexing conversation has made its way back to Selena’s timeline as the performer took to TikTok in a live yesterday and talked openly about the side effects of her Lupus medication
“[When I’m taking it, I] tend to hold a lot of water weight and that happens very normally,” she said.

In addition to addressing this, the 30-year-old award-winning performer showed her support for others going through the same situation and her love for her fans.
“I just wanted to say and encourage anyone out there who feels any sort of shame for exactly what they’re going through and nobody knows the real story.”
The Only Murders In The Building actress and producer continued, “I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself and my medications are important and I believe they are what helps me.”
Selena’s honesty paved the way for a series of responses from fans who empathised with the singer and shared their personal experiences with body shaming.
She wrapped up the live stream thanking her fans for the support. “If not, go away.”
Well said, Selena.
