Inside the Museum Of The Future: What The World Will Look Like in 2071
A glimpse into what life will look like in 2071
Having opened on the very auspicious date of 2/22/22, the Museum of the Future is already wowing guests with its vision of what the world to come will look like. Can’t make it down to see it yourself? Bazaar Arabia brings you along on a tour here…
Future
Travel off-planet to the OSS Hope space station where you can discover what new technology has to offer in 2071 (the UAE’s centenary year). There you are an interactive participant in the Sol Project, a global mission to use lunar photovoltaic (PV) energy cells harvested on the moon to create a new energy source for earth.

Try on virtual space suits, discover space food or simply step back and enjoy the breathtaking view of the world from the stars

Tomorrow
Upon return from OSS Hope, visitors can explore the Heal Institute where the issue of climate change is explored in a novel way. The impressive Vault of Life acts like a virtual 3D DNA library of 2,400 species found on earth.

Make sure to use some of the interactive scanners to discover which mixes of DNA can be combined to create new, spliced-together species that can survive on earth as our environment becomes ever-more hostile. And don’t forget to explore the different biospheres that have been created to house all the new breeds of flora and fauna that have been conjured up.

Forever
No matter the year, mental health will always be a critical element of survival. Inside the Al Waha section of the museum, visitors are asked to put away their personal devices, unhook from the digital world and reconnect to their mind, body and spirit. Relax with a quick gong vibration session, immerse yourself in a sound bath, or close your eyes and let your mind wander in the dimly lit meditation room before making a wish for the future as you leave this oasis of calm contemplation.

Today
With every passing year, the future seems to arrive faster and faster. The final floor of the museum (except one dedicated to kids 10 and under) is a celebration of new, and not too distant future, technology. Gadgets and projects that will help shape the lives of those of us currently living on planet earth.

From a robotic falcon or dog to a self-driving car and a jet pack that has already been used to help spread the word about the opening of the museum, here is where the future feels more attainable even as we continue to reach for the stars
