Those visiting KSA in the winter are always advised to bundle up. Be it attending a music festival in Riyadh, exploring Jeddah, or a quick weekend escape to Al’Ula the desert gets cold during the winter months, especially so at night, and it’s not unusual to bust out a beanie and gloves to keep warm when spending time outside.
But snow in Saudi? While it is rare, it’s not entirely uncommon as the region continues to see shifts in weather patterns. This past weekend the Al-Jawf province, which is located in the north of KSA and borders Jordan, saw a sprinkling of flurries – which quickly turned the desert into a winter wonderland.
