With temperatures declining and the winter season fast approaching, the UAE is all set to experience another week of thunder and rainfall.
UAE Weather Rain: Will There Be Another Thunder and Lightening Storm?
According to the NMC, Northern, Eastern and coastal areas of the UAE can expect rainfall, lightning and thunder of different intensities on Thursday and Friday. Saturday will see partly cloudy skies with the probability of rain on the Eastern coast of the country.
Due such unstable weather conditions, schools all over the UAE have warned parents of traffic and possible cancellations and disruptions.
This morning, the National Center of Meteorology recorded the lowest temperature of 13.9°C in Jais Mountain (Ras Al Khaimah) at 6:00 am UAE Local time. These cooler mornings could mark the beginning of a more temperate season ahead.

Lightning Hits The Burj Khalifa
Back in October, the National Center of Meteorology issued a yellow alert for most regions in the UAE, in light of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Dubai residents took to social media to share videos of the world’s tallest building and other landmarks around Dubai appearing to be struck by lightning.

How often does the Burj Khalifa get hit by lightning?
Sources report that The Burj Khalifa experiences approximately 10 lightning strikes per year on average, owing to its status as the world’s tallest skyscraper.
To safeguard the building and its occupants, it is equipped with lightning rods that divert lightning strikes away from the structure and guide them safely into the ground.
Additionally, the Burj Khalifa’s construction materials, including concrete and steel, are excellent conductors of electricity, ensuring the swift and secure dissipation of electrical charges into the ground. As a result, the Burj Khalifa remains a remarkably safe structure, even in the presence of thunderstorms, thanks to its lightning rods and other protective measures.
