In a surprising twist, the real faces of Gucci’s Spring-Summer 2020 campaign are equine. Titled ‘Of Course a Horse’, the campaign features horses of every colour and size strutting their stuff alongside their human counterparts.
The premise of the campaign was the brainchild of creative director Alessandro Michele, built around the idea of freedom of expression and horses as symbols of liberty. Starring “horses and their human friends in paradoxical scenarios”, the images are both absurd and amusing. Our personal favourite is the miniature pony riding in a car – simply adorable.
Gucci has gone the extra mile to include introductions to their new icons on their website. The collection itself is designed in the same style as the campaign – fun and free-spirited, with vintage-inspired silhouettes in flowing fabrics. With famous designer houses going in unexpected creative directions, 2020 is shaping up to be an exciting year for fashion.
