Fashion Trust Arabia 2022: Introducing This Year’s Panel of Judges
Amina Muaddi, Zuhair Murad, Olivier Rousteing, Pierpaolo Piccioli and other industry heavyweights will be determining this year’s winners
Under the patronage of HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser as honorary chair, with co-chairs HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani and Tania Fares, Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA)‘s annual awards are back with another edition that will showcase the best in regional creativity and style across a variety of categories, shining a spotlight on up-and-coming Arab talent from the region – and beyond.
The judges will select six winning designers across five womenswear-focused categories: Evening Wear, Ready-to-Wear, Accessories (Shoes and Handbags), and Jewellery (Fine & Fashion Jewellery), and the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award (Arab Fashion Design Graduate), along with the guest country award.
Turkey will be the recipient of this year’s guest country award, honoured in partnership with FTA and the Istanbul Apparel Exporters’ Association. This award – which was launched last year and saw Columbia as the first guest country – will shed light on the strongest emerging Turkish designer, an opportunity for creatives to gain recognition for their outstanding work.

Launched in 2018, the Qatar-based non-profit organisation highlights various regional innovations, talents, trends and more, a platform first of its kind in the Arab world.
This year’s judging committee includes the likes of Jordanian-Romanian shoe designer Amina Muaddi, Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli and others industry heavyweights.
