Alaia Opens Its First Ever Boutique In the Middle East

The brand’s first standalone boutique has opened in The Dubai Mall Fashion Avenue

The Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue is the new home to Azzedine Alaïa’s first standalone boutique in the Middle East. Spanning 200-square metres, the sleek new boutique, which was been opened in partnership in leading luxury retailers Boutique 1, plays with light and shadows, both of which were strong themes that influenced Alaïa’s work.

In keeping with the late Tunisian designer’s profound respect for other designers and artists, the design of the boutique is a hybrid of work by long-term collaborators and friends of Alaïa’s. The interiors and the walls were designed by by American artist and friend of the brand Kris Ruhs, each unique clothing stand was designed by French designer Martin Szekely, and the furniture in the store were created by Italian designer Gaetano Pesce.

The colour scheme is black, white, silver and gold and stocks all the latest collections from the brand, including limited edition lines, ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes and accessories.

Earlier this month, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Boucheron and Bottega Veneta all opened brand new boutiques in The Dubai Mall’s new fashion extension. The new section of the mall, which has been dubbed ‘The Centre of Now’, is home to 150 luxury brands.
