How Salvatore Ferragamo Is Doing Its Part In The Fight Against Coronavirus
The luxury goods company, along with other Italian fashion brands, have pledged to support combatting the spread of the virus
As the coronavirus infection rate continues to rise in Italy, notable Italian fashion brands are doing what they can to stop the spread of COVID-19 within their respective regions – and across the country.
Salvatore Ferragamo is amongst a group of iconic fashion houses (which includes Gucci, Montblanc, Fendi, Prada, Valentino and Ermanno Scervino, to name a few) who have pledged to manufacture, supply and donated masks and hand-sanitizer to the region of Tuscany.
According to a statement from the brand, the luxury goods company is supporting the initiative by producing 100,000 TNT anti-bacterial masks, 50,000 units of hand sanitizer and 3,000 FPP1 masks to local Tuscan healthcare units.
In addition to producing necessary equipment that will help in stopping the spread of the virus Salvatore Ferragamo has also pledged to support Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, an initiative that will devote €3 million (Approx Dhs11.9 million) to a solidarity project called “Italia, we are with you”.
This initiative will enable the special Commissioner for the Emergency and the Civil Protection Authority to donate ventilators and other necessary equipment (like surgical masks, testing reagents and protective gear) to meet the growing demands of the country’s healthcare system.
