One Night Only: Giorgio Armani Takes Dubai By Storm With A Runway Show Like No Other
From a exclusive preview to the SS22 collection to a live performance by Chris Martin, Bazaar shares the highlights from the special evening
Giorgio Armani brought Milan to the desert to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Armani hotels.
After an eleven-year hiatus, the Italian designer returned to Dubai and brought with him the crème de la crème of international celebrities and dignitaries to celebrate the One Night Only act, hosted at the Armani Hotel Pavilion.
“The Expo has always been a moment of stimulus for human inventiveness: I saw it first-hand in Milan, in conjunction with the inauguration of the Silos. Now I’m in Dubai: at the Expo again, but with the opportunity to celebrate ten years of my hotels with a special One Night Only event. I’m happy and proud to be here today: the Middle East is the cradle of a new concept of luxury, synonymous with continuous evolution and experimentation that still draw on the roots and the magic of a rich, deep culture to give life to a new creative energy,” said Giorgio Armani.

The Italian designer opened the event with the Giorgio Armani Men’s and Women’s Spring/Summer 2022 runway show and a variety of Armani Privé Haute Couture looks from the Fall/Winter 2021/22 Shine collection.
If that wasn’t enough to celebrate the prestigious event, guests were serenaded by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who played several songs from the band’s new album, Music of the Spheres.

So far, the traveling event has only made stops to the few cities in the world: London in 2006, Tokyo in 2007, Beijing in 2012, Rome and New York in 2013, Paris in 2014 and finally, Dubai in 2021.
One Night Only Dubai aimed to be ethically and environmentally conscious by following the ISO 20121, with the aim to minimise any impact on the environment by not using single-use plastic, avoiding food waste, promoting a separate waste collection and using hybrid cars and LED lighting, a fashion event with a cause.
Visit the Giorgio Armani pop-up that is on now until November 5 in Dubai Mall; the SS22 ready-to-wear collection is currently available at their boutiques.
